1.
One slipped away In careless ambition Leaving behind A flower to wither Want to take my time Shoved into the brine One half a clue Hold onto the line Can’t believe the time You’re not breathing You’re just not breathing Wasting away From weeks of seclusion Much of the problem Pathetic condition Slow down the frenzy You need some direction One blink too long You’re out of commission
2.
Fly 4 02:49
You lift me up You give me the strength to stand You lift me high I just don’t feel so down anymore Boldness rising Can it be I’m ready? Old fears subsiding I’m ready to leave my worries behind and fly You give me hope And the courage to face what I am You showed me love You carried the load so that I could fly
3.
Find You 04:29
Turn away from it There’s nothing there to see Except your loneliness Pain and misery It’s all behind you now But is it gone for good? Many suffered While few understood I’ll be able to find you I’m not losing you I’ll be able to find you ‘Cause I need to see you Come through Made a bad mistake Didn’t count the cost You risked everything Said “tails” as you tossed Now the wavering Is getting hard to bear Where are you going? What are you doing there? Curiosity has put the fool on you It’s plain to me For a moment you thought It would be good to do
4.
They 04:28
Will they find? Will they take me away? Will they toss me To the bottom of a man-made lake? Puppets Ruthless pawns Wanting more control Tyrants Masquerade behind what’s best for all Am I a cultist? Because you don’t control my mind? Eradicate me Somewhere got to draw the line Educate me So I can’t think for myself Regulate me Can’t change who I am inside
5.
Mouth 02:46
Stiffen up your mouth Those reckless words Come tumbling out Pounding your position Expelling your constipated wrath Pardon me If I disagree You seem to hate Those who don’t relate I can’t subscribe What you say It just don’t jive Winds of change Can’t fly the kite So huff and puff With all your might
6.
Amblin' 04:28
Should I retreat? Or face my defeat Like a man Who’s learned from his fall? If I lose face Let humbleness chase me down And find me at peace with it Amblin’ down this lonesome dirt road The pain of old sorrow been trampled Amblin’ down this lonesome dirt road The pain of old sorrow been … … done already been trampled Don’t ask me now To take up this plow And dig up the remains Of what’s been laid to rest New day has come I know where I’m from But I hear the crack Of a different snare
7.
Butter 04:27
Color fade Surface decomposing Relic made Fragile work is broken Tooth decay Laughing gas is okay White is beige Contaminated space age I want my money Get some use Don’t want my loot To be my noose I don’t need time To pass me by I spread the butter On the dry Yellow butter Spread it ‘round End is frayed Bronco gets away Ruler lie Government corrupted Runner safe Check out the instant replay Debt is paid Yeah, I’m free today
8.
Earl 00:20
Starting with the thumb, index, and middle finger Over and over and over You may experience cramping in the wrist And, uhh, fingers But this is only natural Practice will overcome this Let’s go with the thumb working As well as the fingers
9.
Man of Steel 04:18
Chills me to the bone How you slap around The one who put you here Wrongly you persuade Those who think the world of you To join this hate crusade Bending knees Open mouths Begging for mercy Steer the wheel Man of steel Can’t sit still Take your pill Do you feel better now Man of steel? Anxious to offend We’re not shocked anymore Heard it all before Conscience you betray Will you be so arrogant On the bed of death you’ll lay?

about

This album was recorded in 1995-96. As a very early project at Duffy William's Meatlocker Recording in Silverdale Washington, we used a Tascam TSR8 (after Duffy's Otari died) and drums were bounced to 2 channels for additional overdubs. Recording and mixing by Thresh except "Find You", mixed by Gary Egger. Mastering by Barry Corliss at Master Works.
